How many countries are there in world

Thats a question which people ask and which can’t be answered correctly due to the complex status of nations/about to become nations and thus make it bit difficult to answer, since there is no one correct answer. Different stats offer different answers, and depending on the nature of source, there are 192, 193, 195 or 196 independent nations in the world today.

Most of the current World use count as 193 countries, which is perhaps the best answer, but suspicion remain about Greenland, Western Sahara,Palestine and South Sudan.

1.Vatican City

Vatican City - Having total area of around 110 acres, and minimal population of 840, Vatican City hold the crown to be the smallest nation which is internationally recognized as an independent state by both population and area across the world .
2. Monaco

Monaco - Having an area of 2.02 square Kilometers and a population of around 38,000 ,Monaco is the second smallest country and the most densely populated nation of the world.
3.Nauru

Nauru - The third smallest country is a phosphate rock island having rich mineral deposits near the surface, which permits easy strip mining activities. Left with very few phosphate resources remaining,which as of 2011, are not financially viable for extraction.
