Thanksgiving is celebrated on 4th Thursday of November in the USA and the 2nd Monday of October in Canada. Various other places across the world also observe similar holiday celebrations. It has historical roots in cultural traditions and religious and has long been celebrated equally across all religions.

Thanksgiving Day is historically and traditionally a day for friends and families to get together for special meal. The special meal mainly includes a turkey,potatoes, cranberry sauce,stuffing, gravy and pumpkin pie. People also give thanks for whatever they have.
In addition,various Thanksgiving Day parades are held across some cities and towns. Some parades and festivities also announce the opening of the shopping season for Christmas.
